April 13-17
Do you feel like you're a coordinated human being?
Do you even know what coordination means?
Coordination is the ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently.
Do you have to be coordinated to kick a ball? Absolutely you do! Think of a time when you tried to play soccer in the snow...was it hard? Yes! Because the snow made it hard to run, or you slipped when trying to kick the ball, or the ball didn't go where you expected it to and so you slipped and fell.
Our bodies have to coordinate many different factors and moving parts in order for us to be successful in playing physical games.
This lesson is going to help us develop hand-eye coordination, eye-foot coordination and total body coordination! are you so excited?! Here we go!
Our first part of this lesson involves some arts and crafts. The video tutorial will tell you what you need, and teach you had to make Cup The Ball. Then you get to practicing cupping the ball!
Our second part of the lesson is going to be on juggling. First you are going to need to find 3 things you can juggle, so look around for some little balls or hacky-sacks, or you can use rolled up socks! I can't wait to see your juggling skills!
I have probably played this game already with some of you, but it's just so much fun! Try to get your mom or dad to do it with you, and see who's faster!
Time to work on some foot-eye coordination.
I played this foot game a lot while I was camping in the winter. It was a good way to warm up our bodies before getting into our sleeping bags so that we would be nice and warm all night. Try to find a partner, friend or parent who you can do this with!
