Hello Young Jedi
Welcome to the Jedi training academy. Jedi's are the most elite group of Force users in the universe, and they only use their skills for good. You have been chosen to train to become a Jedi because you have shown potential in leadership, defending justice, and doing what is right. The Jedi life is not for all people, and therefore you must treat this responsibility with utmost respect and discipline. Are you ready to get started on your training?
A Jedi must be still and one with the Force
At the foundation of Force training is meditation. A Jedi must be still and calm, able to receive the force and work with it. It is the Force that flows through a Jedi that makes them capable- a Jedi cannot take or command the Force. And so all Jedi trainings start with meditation, to help the warrior have strength from the inside. During your meditation, sit in a cross-legged position and rest your hands palm open on your legs. Then close your eyes and try to feel your body- its strength, its ability, its pains and weaknesses. Try to make your mind relax and just take in the sensations of your body. Observe the sounds around you, as well as the air moving against you. Be aware, yet also find peace.
Here is some music to help you in your meditation
A Jedi must train physically
It is important that a Jedi is quick, agile and in complete control of their own body. The videos below will train you in the basic moves of a Jedi, taken from some Masters that you may have heard of.Practice often and with diligence, for it is the only way to achieve full control of the Force, as well as your own greatness.
A Jedi must be precise
Luke Skywalker defeated the evil empire and saved the universe not through force, but by using The Force. Luke was able to destroy the Death Star because he made a precise hit through focus and determination. This, young Jedi, takes practice. It takes discipline and you must challenge yourself. This next activity is for you to become one with your mind, body and surroundings, so that you too can be focused and precise when you are called upon to save the universe.
A Jedi must be aware of their surroundings
Jedi's are intelligent, not just because of their training, but because they are aware and taking in information from their environment. It is important that a Jedi knows what is available to them by being observant and resourceful. This helps a Jedi to not get trapped by his enemies or stranded alone without any help. Our next training activity is to help you learn to be observant so that you too can always find what you need.
Star Wars Scavenger Hunt
Here is a list of things for you to gather so that you are well-trained to be a Jedi. Even though you may not actually have some of these items, remember that a Jedi is aware of their surroundings and resourceful. You can make some of these items, or be creative in your interpretation of them. For example, if you don’t have a Wookee but you do have a very furry dog, you could say that your dog is your Wookee. Have fun, and may the Force be with you.
